Trust. Accountability. Paying it Forward.

I empower leaders to accomplish what matters for their companies, families and communities, through peer advisory groups and one-to-one coaching.

My "Why" is to equip and empower leaders so that their companies, families and communities can flourish. I do this by serving as a Vistage Chair in Long Island, New York, which means I get to work with CEOs by leading peer advisory groups and providing executive coaching.

Three examples to show what matters to me. Tom, a man now in his 90's, was my mentor for three decades. During that time I discussed with him nearly every major decision I faced. A successful entrepreneur, he influenced me and showed how much he cared by listening deeply and asking questions no one else did. Great leadership is grounded in a relationship of trust.

Second, the leadership development program at a former employer encouraged participation in facilitated peer groups. This involved each person sharing the results of their respective 360 assessments. It was like looking into a mirror and getting 6 different perspectives on strengths to leverage and opportunities to address. Great leadership requires accountability.

Third, my parents both grew up on family farms. My dad was the son of a tenant farmer, and after serving in World War II he became a finance executive at a large company. His journey exceeded his own expectations. He was forever grateful and often quoted the scripture, "To whom much is given, much is required." Great leadership seeks to pay it forward.

I’ve been the chief executive of a small medical facility, led the process that resulted in being recognized as “one of the world’s most ethical companies,” and managed a 200 person team for an organization with operations in 50 states.

I've had the opportunity to lead turnarounds, drive growth in market share and profitability, and manage a merger integration. I've had success and made mistakes. And I learned from both.

I'm blessed to be a husband and father of two grown children. I enjoy gardening and cooking, working out and doing anything that involves being on the water!

If you're a CEO or business owner on Long Island who wants to bring your leadership to the next level, consider joining one of my Vistage peer advisory groups. I'm currently interviewing chief executives for these groups.

What is Vistage?

Vistage is a global organization that provides executive coaching and peer advisory groups for CEOs and other business leaders of small and midsize businesses.

My Groups

I chair the only Small Business group on Long Island, as well as a Chief Executive group and Key Executive Group.

You are not alone. Whether you're an owner/operator or a tenured CEO, whether you have an established leadership team or captain the ship yourself - I have a place for you. No matter what challenges or opportunities you're facing, there's someone in my group who is going through the same thing or has already successfully navigated it.

“The value I receive from my Vistage experience is tremendous.  Not only from the 1-2-1s, the monthly group meetings, and the speakers, but from what comes from all of that.  A conversation at lunch at a group meeting about one thing sparks an idea in my mind about something else that could benefit us in the company.  It's really so much more than "1" thing, it's really the circle of things that Vistage inspires in me each month and helps me to be more successful and as a result, helps my company and the people in it to grow.”

“Jeff is the only Ph.D. I have ever met who is self aware and understands the value of coaching over directing.  He is insightful in his approach when providing a platform for others to solve their issues by asking strategic questions.  Lastly, he is a gentle person - I haven't met too many people in my life who I can use that adjective to describe them.” - Sin Senh
